Living in D.C. Metro Area

Meet your home away from home.

DoN–Naval Research Laboratory HBCU/MI Internship Program participants have the option to select housing provided in Alexandria, VA – a short distance away from the NRL internship assignment location.

When the internship is offered in-person, this housing option is provided at a reduced rate to participants of the program and includes:

  • Shared kitchen, bathroom, and common living space
  • Fully-stocked kitchen (ie. plates, silverware and pots and pans)
  • Free shuttle service to/from NRL campus each day

Peace of mind when you need it most.

We provide you with the 24-hour support and service you've come to expect at school—but in a big-city, metropolitan setting.

We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our community in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We've added safety precautions such as mandatory testing, temperature checks and single-occupancy living for all students who join us in D.C.

“I really enjoyed this opportunity to work with NRL scientists and collaboratively develop a data analysis plan of action. I had the space to develop my coding skills and mathematic knowledge at my own pace and the support to work together on new ideas.”
