Department of Transportation (DOT)
Spend a summer doing meaningful public service work and making valuable connections in the U.S. Department of Transportation
You’ll get hands-on experience in public service while learning about transportation challenges and advancements through the Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups (STIPDG), sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT).
STIPDG seeks undergraduate, graduate, and law students for a fulfilling 10-week summer internship. As an undergraduate student, you should be a rising junior or rising senior during your summer internship.
You’ll get a chance to build your network, develop new skills, and learn about open positions at the DoT. This internship program is a critical part of the DoT’s employee recruitment efforts.
Your assignment to one of the DOT’s Operating Administrations is based on your major, preference for a particular area and geographic preference. Internships are typically located in Washington, D.C. and in regional locations across the U.S. Round-trip airfare and fully furnished housing will be provided if you live more than 50 miles from your internship location.
